Finding an Affiliate Program

There are Affiliate programs for almost any topic that you can imagine. You just need to find them. Sometimes the vendors go through a broker such as Commission Junction or Clickbank and other times the individual vendor will host the program. There are cons and pluses to each approach.

The easiest way to find affiliate programs for your chosen topic is to search one of the Affiliate Marketing Program's databases. This will give you a lot of different vendors to work with at the click of a search button. This is the pro, but there is also a con, because the brokerage firms take a commission from the vendor this usually cuts into the commission paid to the webmaster.

The ones that are hosted by the vendor usually pay a little better since the vendor does not have this extra overhead. These take a little more time to locate, but they are normally worth the effort. One of the best ways to find this is just by using your search engine of choice. Search for the main topics you are building a site around and either look for a menu item named Affiliates or you can even search each site for affiliate programs the site may offer. It is not always easy to find the link on these sites, so make sure you look carefully.

The best strategy is to use a combination of these two methods to find the affiliate programs you want to participate in. If chosen correctly these programs can help earn a substantial amount of income for your websites.

There are literally hundreds of strategies for Affiliate Marketing you can utilize to promote your affiliate sales. The method you chose should depend upon your unique site content and the programs you are promoting. The main thing you need for any program is traffic. Most programs will return a 3-5% conversion rate so you must have enough traffic to make it useful for your time. There are many ways for generating traffic and I give some good tips for that on my blog.

You must also understand Search Engine Optimization to rank well in the search engines and attract targeted visitors.

One of the most effective methods of generating affiliate marketing sales is to build up a list of potential customers in an email list and then periodically email your list members additional information and provide links to the affiliate programs you are currently promoting.

Another method the not only generates traffic, but can also make some affiliate sales is by submitting articles to various article directories. Basically you write an article on your topic and then provide links either back to one of your websites or to the affiliate programs you are promoting in the allowed resource block at the end of the article.

One other method that has been made popular by the release of the free eBook BumMarketingMethod is by submitting classified ads to place such as UsFreeAds and Craigslist. This has proven very effective for quite a few marketers. It's not really anything new, but something that has been done since the days when Free for Alls where popular.

Whatever method you choose, make sure you just continue to work the system. Sometimes it takes a little time before a particular Affiliate Marketing Strategy will start producing sustained reliable results. Don't just start today and if you don't see immediate results just give up tomorrow. Put in the time and work and it will help you. There are thousands of people all over the net who earn decent livings from marketing other people products as affiliates.
